I asked ChatGPT a question. This is what they said.

Since everyone is talking about ChatGPT, I decided to take a spin for myself this morning. Since I needed to get started with blog anyways, I thought it might be a great opportunity to pretend it's my confident, smart co-worker who just happens to be in a browser instead of sitting next to me. Of course this pretend unicorn must have a name, so I named them Steve. (IYKYK <3) data-preserve-html-node="true"

Anywho, here's how it went. I'm curious to hear what you think!

"How would you describe someone who was part daredevil and part diplomat?"

The first answer was this:

"A person who is part daredevil and part diplomat might be described as someone who is bold and fearless in pursuing their goals, but also skilled at navigating complex social situations and relationships. They might be seen as someone who is able to take calculated risks and make bold moves while still being able to effectively communicate and negotiate with others. This combination of qualities could make them effective leaders or entrepreneurs, as they would be able to take risks to pursue their vision while also being able to build and maintain strong relationships with their colleagues, partners, and stakeholders."

Then I asked it to summarize it into one sentence. It's response:

"A person who is both a daredevil and a diplomat is bold and fearless in pursuit of their goals, but also skilled at navigating complex social situations and relationships effectively."

I personally think they did a good job. It lacks a conversational or casual tone, but that might be helped with added context in the inital question or a subsequent request to refine. (FYI, you don't have to restate the sentence.)

I asked "Can you make this more casual?"

"Certainly! Here is a more casual version of the original statement: "They're a total daredevil, but they also know how to play the diplomacy game. They're not afraid to take risks and go after what they want, but they also know how to navigate social situations and relationships like a pro."

They even gave context and continued with:

"This version conveys the same basic idea as the original statement, but in a more casual and informal tone. It uses colloquial language and sentence structure to make the description feel more relaxed and conversational."

While I think this is super fun to play with and I am certain it'll help me in my solo WFH mindset, there are plenty of things this worry about with this one. However, it can also level the playing field for the less privledged. More on that to come.

I also promise to let you know if Steve highjacks any blog posts. I'm not a strict unicorn manager and always encourage my teammates and clients to try new things.
